Ismaily Demands Cancellation of Relegation for Another Season
Ali Ghait, Vice President of Ismaily Club, called for the cancellation of relegation once again in the Premier League, as was done last season, to ensure the continued presence of the Dervishes in the local competition.
Ali Ghit said in a radio statement: "The popular clubs are the spirit of the Egyptian league, and the cancellation of relegation last season was not because of Ismaily, but rather to serve other clubs to ensure their survival and certain interests."
He continued: "The relegation of Ismaily to the second division harms the reputation of Egyptian football. The new sports law has provided a great opportunity for investment in clubs."
He added: "We request the cancellation of relegation for another non-renewable season. The clubs love Ismaily, and Al Ahly refused to hold the Egyptian league without Ismaily. What harm does Ismaily's presence cause to the clubs? We have suffered from extremely harsh conditions."
