Manchester United Refuses Bruno Fernandes' Departure in Summer
Thursday 23-04-2026
Manchester United has decided on the future of its Portuguese player Bruno Fernandes, the team's midfield captain, affirming its commitment to keeping him and its unwillingness to let him leave during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The British newspaper 'The Sun' reported that the club's management clearly informed the player of their refusal to let him go under any circumstances, despite the offers and interest he has recently received, especially from Saudi league clubs.

The report indicated that Manchester United had previously shown readiness to sell Fernandes for 80 million pounds, specifically to Al-Nassr club, before reversing this direction and insisting on keeping him within the team.

The newspaper added that the player was eventually convinced to stay, influenced by the role of former Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, who contributed to changing his stance.

Fernandes, 31 years old, had expressed in previous statements last December his dissatisfaction with the idea of leaving, before matters were settled with his stay.

The Portuguese star is delivering outstanding performances this season, having scored 8 goals and provided 19 assists in 32 matches across various competitions.

It is worth noting that Fernandes is under contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2027, since joining the team in January 2020 from Sporting Lisbon for 65 million euros.
