Friday 17-04-2026
The Brazilian star Neymar has sparked uncertainty about his football future after confirming that he is still considering his next options, amid reports linking him to a move to FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer.

The 34-year-old player said in statements to ESPN: "Honestly, I don't know," indicating that he has not yet decided on his next destination.

Neymar is currently experiencing a transitional period with his current club Santos, having returned to his childhood team in 2025. He has confirmed that he plans to complete his contract, which ends at the end of this year.

He also explained that he is still recovering from a knee injury that has significantly affected his participation this season, as he has only played in eight matches during 2026, scoring four goals and assisting three.

Press reports indicate that FC Cincinnati officials are considering the possibility of signing Neymar during the upcoming summer transfer window, in an attempt to strengthen the team's power in the American league.

The Brazilian star previously played in Europe with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, before having a brief stint in the Saudi league with Al-Hilal, which ended due to a severe injury.

It is noted that Neymar, who has been one of the prominent stars of the Brazilian national team since 2013, has not participated internationally since 2023. However, he still aspires to return to the national team and participate in the upcoming World Cup in North America, making his future with upcoming clubs a crucial step in his career.
