Malacia joins FC Cincinnati after leaving Manchester United

FC Cincinnati has announced the signing of Dutch defender Tyrell Malacia from Manchester United on Friday. The contract extends until June 2027, with an option to extend for an additional season until 2027-2028 in Major League Soccer.

Malacia is 27 years old and began his career with Dutch club Feyenoord, where he played 137 matches for the first team, before moving to Manchester United in July 2022. During his first season with the English club, he participated in 39 matches, bringing his total appearances to 50 matches in the team's shirt.

Malasia had a brief stint with PSV Eindhoven during the 2024-2025 season on loan, participating in three matches in the UEFA Champions League. He also has 43 appearances in European club competitions at the first team level.

On the international stage, Malasia has played 9 matches with the Netherlands national team, with his first appearance on September 4, 2021. He was also part of the squad in the FIFA World Cup 2022, where the Netherlands reached the quarter-finals.

Malasia has achieved several titles, most notably the EFL Cup with Manchester United in the 2022-2023 season, as well as the KNVB Cup and Dutch Super Cup with Feyenoord, in addition to the Dutch league title with PSV Eindhoven in the 2024-2025 season.
