Shobeir: Al Ahly Will Not Resort to Sports Court in Ceramica Match Crisis
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir, a former Al-Ahly star, stated that the club's board of directors is inclined towards calming the current crisis with the Football Association regarding the Ceramica Cleopatra match, emphasizing that the club does not intend to make any hasty or impulsive decisions.
In a radio statement, Shobier said: "The Al Ahly board did not hold an official meeting, as some board members came to the club's headquarters yesterday, but the president, Mahmoud El Khatib, was not among them."
He added: "Al Ahly will not resort to the sports court because, quite simply, the response would be, 'What concern is it of ours if a penalty was not awarded?'... or even the failure to bring in foreign referees as happened last season."
The match between Al Ahly and Ceramica witnessed a controversial refereeing decision when Al Ahly players demanded a penalty for a handball by player Ahmed Hani. Despite the video assistant referee (VAR) calling referee Mahmoud Wafa, he insisted on his decision not to award any foul.
