Officially .. Queiroz is the new head coach of the Ghana national team
The Ghana Football Association announced the appointment of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as the head coach of the national team, the "Black Stars," in preparation for the 2026 World Cup to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Queiroz has an impressive track record in the World Cup, having led the South African national team to qualify for the 2002 edition, reached the knockout stages with the Portuguese national team in 2010, and managed the Iranian national team in the 2014 and 2018 editions, which gives him significant experience in handling this type of major tournament.
The Portuguese coach has previously worked with prominent clubs and national teams, including Real Madrid and Manchester United, in addition to leading the national teams of Egypt, Oman, Japan, and Qatar, which boosts confidence in his ability to provide a strong technical contribution to the Ghanaian national team.
Queiroz is expected to start his duties immediately, as the Ghanaian team prepares to face Panama in their first match on June 17 in Toronto, before meeting England and Croatia in the group stage competitions.
