Reason for Delaying Ousmane Dembélé's Contract Renewal with Paris Saint-Germain
Monday 13-04-2026
French press reports have revealed the behind-the-scenes reasons for the delay in extending Ousmane Dembélé's contract with Paris Saint-Germain during the current period.

The newspaper "L'Équipe" reported that the player has not signed a new contract yet, as both parties agreed to postpone the discussion of the renewal to a later stage, with a mutual desire to be cautious before making a final decision.

It was clarified that the club management and the player prefer to settle this matter by the end of the current season, with the final decision to be made based on the team's results, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

Dembele, who is 28 years old, is among the highest-paid players on the team, earning a monthly salary estimated at around 1.5 million euros, with two seasons remaining on his current contract.

The newspaper concluded that Dembele's situation differs from that of several of his teammates who recently renewed their contracts, as the Paris Saint-Germain management handles each case separately, according to the technical needs and competitive circumstances within the team.
