Officially.. Aliou Cissé Takes Charge of Angola National Team
Thursday 09-04-2026
The Angolan Football Federation announced the appointment of Senegalese Aliou Cissé as the head coach of the national team, following a series of recent negotiations between the two parties.

The federation announced in an official post on its Facebook account: "Welcome Aliou Cissé, the new head coach of the Angola national team."

The federation did not officially specify the duration of the contract, but press reports indicated that Cissé signed a four-year contract, during which he will lead the team until 2030.

This appointment comes just a few days after Cissé parted ways with the Libyan national team, despite his contract running until 2027. Sources mentioned some financial issues within the Libyan team, including delays in salary payments, which contributed to his swift departure.

Cissé had expressed his gratitude to the players, the technical staff, and the fans before leaving Libya, describing his experience there as enriching despite the challenges. He praised the progress made by the team and affirmed his confidence in their future.

It is noted that the position of head coach for the Angola national team has remained vacant since last February, following the departure of the former coach Patrice Beaumelle, prompting the federation to search for a new head coach to lead the team in the upcoming season.
