Mostafa Ziko: Our goal was to win and we will try to overcome South Sudan

Mostafa Ziko, the star of the Egypt national team, expressed his sadness after the Pharaohs drew against Angola on Friday evening in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027.

The match between Egypt and Angola, which took place on Friday evening at the Cairo International Stadium in the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification, ended in a goalless draw 0-0.

Mostafa Ziko stated in an interview with "beIN Sports": "The draw against Angola was not satisfactory for us; our goal was to achieve victory and collect the three points. Football has its gains and losses, and no team wins all the time."

Mostafa Ziko expressed disappointment after missing several chances against Angola, stating: "We tried to score against Angola, but we wasted many opportunities in front of goal. We did what we could, but luck was not on our side against the opponent, and we hope to improve our performance later on."

Mostafa Ziko has stated: "We will try to win against the Sudan national team in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification."

Egypt is scheduled to visit South Sudan in the second round on Tuesday, September 29, and will conclude its matches in the current international break with a friendly against South Africa.
