Alvarez: We Trust in Our Ability to Decide, and I Hope to Continue Scoring Goals
Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid player, praised his team's performance after the 2-0 victory over Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Alvarez said: "The result is important but not yet decided, there are 90 minutes left, and despite the advantage we have now, we must take advantage of our stadium and fans, it won't be easy, and we have to work step by step, we are where we want to be."
He continued: "I don't know where Giuliano touched the ball, but he was the last man and it was clear."
He added: "Yesterday we trained on free kicks, I shot five or six times and didn't score any goals, today was the right time and I scored at a crucial moment, so I am happy."
He continued: "I am happy and hope to continue scoring more goals to help the team."
He concluded his statements by saying: "Step by step, we have the weekend and then the second leg, and we have complete confidence in our work and what we are doing to achieve qualification."
