Omar Nagi, the agent of player Akram Tawfik, has settled the ongoing debate regarding his client's future, confirming that the reports suggesting the possibility of his return to the Egyptian league in the near future are untrue.

Media reports had linked the player with a return to Al-Ahly amid talks of strengthening the midfield, but his agent insisted that these claims are unfounded.

Nagy clarified that Akram Tawfiq is settled with Al-Shamal Club and is committed to his contract, which extends until the summer of 2028, noting that his current focus is on helping his team compete for the league title.

He added that the recent period has indeed seen the beginning of discussions with the Qatari club's management to extend the player's contract for several additional seasons, given the satisfaction with his performance.

The North offers a remarkable season, currently holding second place in the Qatari league standings with 37 points, just two points behind the leading Al Sadd. They also have a postponed match that could grant them the top spot if they win it.

The team has three matches remaining in the competition and needs to win them to secure the title.

Akram Tawfik joined Al-Shamal at the beginning of the current season on a free transfer, following the end of his stint with Al-Ahly, where he had played since 2016, with two loan periods to El Gouna, before continuing his journey with the Red team until 2025.

The player has played 20 matches with his current team this season and successfully assisted in two goals.
