Will Al Ahly Withdraw from the Egyptian Super Cup?

The journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed the truth about Al Ahly's withdrawal from the Egyptian Super Cup.

In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "The Super Cup includes four teams: the league champion, the Egypt Cup champion, the League Cup champion, and then a team that participates via the golden card, which is usually a big team to strengthen the competition, or according to their choice, and a club chosen with the golden card might decline."

Shobeir added: "I'm not suggesting or hinting at Al Ahly's withdrawal at all, but this is a golden card, meaning an invitation card where I could say thank you very much, but my circumstances don't allow it, or I might participate normally because the Super Cup is a big celebration."

He clarified: "I'm saying this because some people claimed that Al Ahly sent a message saying they wouldn't play against Pyramids. There's no such thing, folks. The league champion plays against the league cup champion, and the cup champion plays against the team participating with the golden card. So, it's settled: Al Ahly will play against Pyramids, and Zamalek will face the winner of the Cairo Cup title."
