Al Ahly's Position on Participating in the 2029 Club World Cup
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir, former star of Al-Ahly, revealed the position of the Red Club regarding participation in the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "Many are asking now about Al Ahly's situation and its presence in the Club World Cup. As of this moment, Al Ahly is out of the Club World Cup 2029 and will also be absent next year due to its absence from the African Champions League, and therefore it has no chance of winning the tournament, which means it is out as well."
He explained: "We will still see the story of the ranking, but in the current ranking, Al Ahly is declining. Generally, the ranking is referred to when a team wins more than one African Champions League title within four years, just to make the situation clear for everyone."
Shobier added: "The current ranking in Africa has Sundowns at the top with 62 points, followed by Pyramids with 59 points and qualified as the champion of last season, then FAR Rabat with 48, Esperance with 44, and Al Ahly with 43 points. This ranking will be referred to in case a team wins more than one title, and it will certainly change according to the results of the teams in the next two seasons."
