Mastantono's Absence from the Girona Match
Sunday 05-04-2026
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that coach Álvaro Arbeloa will face the absence of player Franco Mastantuono in the upcoming match between Real Madrid and Girona, scheduled for Friday, April 10, at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium at 9 PM Cairo time.

This came after he received a yellow card in the match between Real Madrid and Mallorca, which led to a one-match suspension due to the accumulation of cards.

This absence is not significantly impactful on Arbeloa's plans, as the Argentine player has lost his starting position with the current coach compared to his status under Xabi Alonso.

Although Mastantonio joined Real Madrid last summer as a prominent signing, he has not yet shown the expected level of performance for the white team.

Real Madrid had paid over 63 million euros to River Plate to acquire the 18-year-old player, who is still registered with the Castilla squad.

Xabi Alonso relied on him as a starter on the right flank of the attack, but he gradually moved from the starting lineup to the bench. Speculation is now spreading about the possibility of him being loaned out next summer.
