AC Milan has received a warning about the potential loss of its coach Massimiliano Allegri, amid interest from the Italian national team to sign him in the coming period, following Gennaro Gattuso's departure from coaching the Azzurri.

This comes after the Italian national team failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, following their loss in the European playoff final against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to 'Football Italia', the Italian Football Federation is considering reaching out to Allegri to lead the national team in the next phase, which raises concerns for Milan's management, especially since the coach is considered one of the top candidates for the position, alongside Antonio Conte, the Napoli coach.

The report indicated that this scenario has been on the table for several months, with sources predicting that Allegri would receive an offer to coach the national team if Italy failed to qualify, which indeed happened, with increasing speculations in recent hours about the possibility of the Italian federation moving towards him or Conte.

Meanwhile, AC Milan is working to meet Allegri's demands and strengthen confidence in his technical project, in an attempt to retain him and prevent his move to coach the national team.

The report confirmed that if Allegri refuses to take on the role, the Italian federation will turn to other options, most notably Antonio Conte or Roberto Mancini.
