Leonardo Spinazzola, the Italian national team player, expressed his deep regret after the Azzurri's loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup qualifying playoff final by penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw. He emphasized that the team will continue to rue the three or four chances they could have capitalized on to win the match.

The player said, "This is extremely frustrating for us, for our families, and for all the Italian children who will not see their national team in the World Cup again. Seeing young players cry is painful, but they have a better future ahead of them."

The Italian national team suffered a major blow after defender Alessandro Bastoni was sent off before the end of the first half, despite the team taking an early lead with a goal scored by Moise Kean in the 15th minute, before Haris Tabaković scored the equalizer for Bosnia in the 79th minute.

He added: "We created several chances despite being outnumbered, and Bosnia could have also been sent off after Tarik Muharemović's tackle on Marco Balestra in extra time, but the events determined the outcome of the match. It's pointless to talk about it now, there's just this immense frustration."

The player concluded that this was his last chance to be in the World Cup, but he expressed his sadness on behalf of all of Italy.
