Thursday 02-04-2026
The management of the Union of Algiers club submitted an official letter today, Thursday, to the refereeing committee of the Algerian Football Federation, expressing their dissatisfaction with the refereeing decisions that accompanied the team's matches in the 16th and 17th rounds of the national championship.

The club confirmed that these errors were not isolated incidents, but rather part of a series of decisions that directly impacted the team's results and negatively affected its progress in the competition.

The Algerian Union highlighted several controversial incidents in its correspondence, most notably during the derby match, where it pointed out being denied a penalty after a tackle on player Riyad Ben Ayad, in addition to the opponent being awarded a goal from an offside position without decisive intervention from the video assistant referee (VAR).

In the match against JS Kabylie, the club protested a goal they deemed illegal, which was preceded by a foul on the player Likounza. They also pointed out the failure to award a penalty after a handball by the player Bouderbala.

The club also criticized the performance of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) room, considering that it did not fulfill its role in correcting mistakes, despite the availability of footage that warranted intervention.

USM Alger supported its complaint with visual evidence, including photos and videos, affirming its commitment to defending its rights through legal means, and calling for an investigation and necessary actions to ensure the integrity of the competition.
