The Frenchman Hervé Renard surprised everyone with a series of decisive decisions within the Saudi national team's camp, following the heavy defeat against Egypt, as part of the ongoing preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The coaching staff has called up goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais to join the "Green" team's camp in Jeddah before traveling to Serbia, in a move aimed at strengthening the goalkeeping position ahead of the upcoming friendly match.

Renard also decided to promote a group of players from the B national team, most notably Nawaf Boushal, Khalifa Al-Dawsari, and Mohammed Al-Mujahad, to strengthen the main squad and give the team a new boost after the disappointing performance.

On the other hand, the camp is witnessing the exclusion of several names, as Moteb Al-Harbi is absent due to injury and lack of readiness, while the duo Ali Lajami and Hassan Kadesh have been excluded for technical reasons.

The Saudi national team delegation will depart for Belgrade on Saturday evening to continue their preparation program, as the coaching staff aims to correct mistakes and improve their performance following the heavy defeat.

The team is preparing to face Serbia in a friendly match on March 31, in an important test before major tournaments, amid fans' aspirations to see a strong response from the players.
