The situation regarding goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais with the Saudi national team is becoming clearer, following increased debate about his absence from recent rosters and the possibility of his international retirement.

The data indicates that Al-Owais has not announced his retirement from international play, despite his absence from representing the "Green" since his participation in the 2023 Gulf Cup in Kuwait.

The veteran goalkeeper was absent from the national team's roster for the March camp, which raised questions about his international future with coach Hervé Renard's squad.

Media reports revealed that Al-Owais contacted Renard after the Gulf Championship, explaining his lack of readiness at that time due to his limited participation with his former club, Al-Hilal.

With his subsequent move to Al Ula Club, the player reaffirmed his readiness and opened the door for a potential return to the national team in the near future.

Nevertheless, the coaching staff tends to not call him up currently, due to his long absence from the national team environment in recent times.
