Barcelona Decides to Block Sale of Limited View Tickets
Saturday 21-03-2026
Juan Sentiés, the operations manager at FC Barcelona, revealed the club's decision to block the sale of limited view tickets at Spotify Camp Nou stadium, following the clear emergence of the issue during recent matches, particularly in the Champions League, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo'.

Sentiés explained that this issue was anticipated before the stadium's redesign, confirming that the view is ideal in the absence of the U-shaped broadcasting platform. He said, 'We were aware of this problem beforehand, as the view from the first row to the top of the stand is excellent without the broadcasting platform, but its presence imposes some obstacles.'

He added that the club will have to take gradual solutions, noting that these solutions will not be immediate, as the affected seats will be blocked and not offered for sale in the future, after they were sold in the last match. He confirmed that the number of affected seats ranges between 300 and 350 in Champions League matches, while the number drops to between 150 and 200 seats in La Liga matches.

Sentiés discussed the reasons for the problem's exacerbation, explaining that the installation of the broadcasting platform, along with the allocation of spaces for photographers and cameras, reduces the viewing angle in some seats, especially in the first rows of the Gol Nord stand.

He also ruled out the possibility of lowering the pitch as an alternative solution, confirming that it is not possible because it would negatively affect the view of the rest of the fans in the stands, given the almost unchanged slope of the first stand.

He pointed out that the club is studying solutions similar to those implemented in English stadiums, such as allocating specific areas for photographers in front of the broadcasting platform, but he emphasized that implementing these solutions will take time, with the management currently preferring to control attendance capacity in rows one to five of the Gol Nord stand.

Sentiés confirmed that the problem does not extend beyond the first rows, where there are no obstacles to the view starting from the sixth row in Champions League matches, and from the third row in La Liga matches, based on precise studies conducted by the club. He added that seats that do not provide a clear view, and only show the players' heads, will not be sold to avoid fans moving around the stadium in search of better spots.

Regarding the proposal to create cheering stands at both ends of the stadium, he explained that this option is not feasible due to the large number of subscription holders, emphasizing the need to maintain as many good-view seats as possible for the fans.

Sentiés concluded his remarks by pointing out the presence of some low ceilings in the internal corridors of the main stand, explaining that their height ranges between 1.98 and 2 meters, and that they cannot be modified as they are part of the heritage structure of the second stand, in addition to the engineering constraints related to the pathways for people with disabilities, which led to the decision to place clear warning signs to ensure the safety of the fans.
