Farag Amer: CAF Deliberately Keeps Al Ahly Away from African Championships
Farag Amer, the former president of Smouha Club, sparked controversy by asserting that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) deliberately harms Al Ahly.
Farag Amer wrote on his Facebook account: "In CAF, those without backing get hit. Unfortunately, Al Ahly has no backing in CAF, and CAF does everything to keep them away from winning the African Clubs Championship for known reasons."
Al Ahly will face Tunisian club Esperance tomorrow, Saturday, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The first leg match between Al-Ahly and Esperance ended with the latter winning 1-0.
