Lens Presses to Finalize Saud Abdulhamid Deal as Roma Awaits
Wednesday 18-03-2026
Lens French coach Pierre Sag confirmed new developments regarding the future of Saud Abdulhamid, who is on loan from Italian club Roma until the end of the season.

Sag explained that the player's stay has become a topic of discussion within the club, especially with the loan period nearing its end and a clause available to purchase his contract permanently.

The coach noted that Saud has shown improving performances since joining and has successfully secured his place in the starting lineup in recent times.

He added that the player demonstrated his ability to compete in the right-back position, benefiting from the absence of his teammate Ruben Aguilar, which creates a technical dilemma upon his return.

Sag confirmed that Lens management tends to keep the player, considering activating the purchase clause, although the final decision depends on his original club.

Saud has played 23 matches with the team this season, including 19 in the French league and 4 in the French Cup, during which he scored two goals and assisted four.

Lens occupies the second position with 56 points, just one point behind Paris Saint-Germain, in a heated race for the top of the championship.

It seems that the upcoming weeks will be decisive in determining the fate of the Saudi player, whether to continue in France or return to Roma.
