Sunday 15-03-2026
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta appeared in a press statement following the 2-0 victory over Everton in the 30th round of the English Premier League, in the match held at the Emirates Stadium.

The coach said: "It was unbelievable. With all the time we invest, all the effort we put in, all the commitment we show to our passion, this wonderful game called football - to live those moments, the energy of the fans, the happiness, the joy."

He added: "Looking at my staff and the players, the joy in their eyes is really something special. I think we just witnessed one of the best moments we've had here at the Emirates Stadium, and I'm sure people will remember for many years, I was at the Emirates that day when that sixteen-year-old boy picked up the ball at the halfway line and ran with it all the way to the goal to score!"

On the celebrations after each goal: "[This shows] how much we want to win, how much we want to achieve our goals. You can feel it every day, and we will all do everything we can to achieve that, hopefully, day by day, we deserve it (the title)."

Regarding whether belief was present late in the match when the score was 0-0: "Absolutely. We have a lot of capabilities, a lot of belief, and most importantly, a lot of desire to win. Things have to turn in our favor at the right moment. The fans kept believing, and so did the players, we deserved to win the match, but this is football, and the way we achieved the win is probably the best."

On the participation of young Max Daumann who scored the second goal: "This is what I see every day, a player unaffected by the event or the opponent or whatever the situation, he changed the course of the game. What he did at sixteen, not just the goal, but how he speeds up every move, the decisions he makes, is unbelievable, it was great for him, for the team, for his family - for all of us connected to football. It's beautiful to trust these young players when they have the ability, talent, and courage to play this game. He made history today."

He concluded: "The attackers had a crucial role as usual. All the substitutes, you saw their reaction and how they live the game, that wild desire to be part of this team and achieve what we aspire to, another match. This is what we had to do, it was our duty, and we managed to find a way to achieve it."
