Pyramids Coach: We Respect the Royal Army and Came to Rabat with a Champion's Mentality

The Croatian Krunoslav Jurčić, the head coach of Pyramids FC, affirmed that his team is aware of the difficulty of the upcoming match against the Royal Army, emphasizing his great respect for the opponent and his team's good preparation for the game.

Pyramids, the reigning CAF Champions League titleholder, will visit FAR Rabat in a match scheduled for Friday evening at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, as part of the first leg of the tournament's quarter-finals.

During the press conference preceding the match, Yurčić explained that he had thoroughly studied the Moroccan team, noting that the Royal Army had not undergone significant changes compared to last season when the two teams met in the same round and Pyramids managed to advance to the next stage on their way to winning the title.

The Croatian coach added that the stability of the Royal Army's lineup reflects the mentality of big clubs that maintain their core elements, anticipating a strong match that could be decided in the return leg to be held in Cairo.

Yurčić emphasized that holding the CAF Champions League title places a great responsibility on his team to defend it, noting that Pyramids is in good spirits and is striving to continue its continental journey strongly to replicate last season's achievement.

The coach also spoke about the absences in both teams, explaining that the Royal Army will miss the services of player Mohamed Rabie Harimat due to suspension, while Pyramids is also suffering from the absence of several key players, such as Walid El Karti, Ramadan Sobhi, and Mohamed Hamdi. He expressed confidence in the rest of the team members and their ability to compensate for these absences.

Regarding the absence of fans, Yurtich stated that it might have an impact, but he emphasized that the outcome of the match will be decided on the field. He explained that the team that is more focused and prepared will be closer to achieving victory, and that Pyramids is entering the match with the goal of winning.
