Rossignol: Mistakes Are Possible, But We Must Not Repeat Them
Liam Rosenior, the manager of Chelsea, acknowledged the fatal mistake made by goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen during his team's 5-2 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, emphasizing that the mistake is not solely on the goalkeeper.
Rosenior said: "There are always risks in the style of play we follow. You can play with long passes, which might come straight back to your goal, or you can build from the back, and these risks are part of what we do. I take full responsibility; the mistake is on me."
He added: "It's unfortunate because during these moments when we were trying to build up play, we had a greater chance to control the match. However, the opposing team scored five goals, and that's very hard to accept."
He continued: "We don't have enough time, we need to get back to the plane and prepare to face Newcastle and then Paris Saint-Germain next week."
He continued: "The responsibility of restoring trust falls on me. Trust is always lost after mistakes, but we have a great group of players. We don't blame for mistakes, but we make sure they are not repeated."
