The French goalkeeper Mike Maignan has returned to Chelsea's radar, despite having signed a new contract with AC Milan just five months ago, according to Italian press reports.

Chelsea had previously come close to signing the goalkeeper when his contract was nearing its end, before AC Milan succeeded in resolving the renewal issue and extended his contract until June 2031.

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the English club has not lost interest and is preparing to make a new attempt during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The reports indicated that the instability within Milan could affect the future of the deal, amid the reassessment of some positions within the club.

Despite the renewal, the current situation may open the door for a possible departure of the French goalkeeper, who is preparing to participate with the French national team in the 2026 World Cup.
