A responsible source in Al-Qasim Club revealed serious developments regarding the financial crisis the club is suffering from, indicating that the accumulation of debts and local and international claims is threatening the team's continuity this season in the Iraqi Stars League.

The source explained that Al-Qasim is considered one of the distinguished clubs in Iraq, where last season it succeeded in building a strong team, and several outstanding players emerged from its ranks, such as Al-Harith Hatim and Saif Rashid, who later moved to join Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Talaba teams.

The source told winwin: "The club is facing significant debts, as the professional player Karim Abu Bakr is demanding financial dues equivalent to three months, and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has issued a decision requiring the payment of an amount of 15,000 US dollars." He added: "The player Tamsir Kessi is also demanding an amount of 45,000 US dollars, and part of the amount was previously transferred through his agent, but the agent did not deliver it to the player, and it would have been better for the money to be paid directly to the player to ensure the club's rights."

The source confirmed that the debts left by the previous administration amount to about 190 million Iraqi dinars, and the current administration did not receive any official records containing details of financial obligations during the recent handover process. He added: "The previous administration contracted with 8 professional players for a total amount of 360 million Iraqi dinars, but the club actually benefited from only three players, and if the rest file official complaints, they may receive their full dues."

The source pointed out that the previous administration dispensed with 9 players during the winter transfer period, granting them 5 months' dues, adding that any official complaint from these may cost the club about 250 million Iraqi dinars. Also, the current players are demanding two months' overdue salaries, while the dues of the training and administrative staff amount to about 150 million Iraqi dinars, placing the administration under the necessity to provide funds to ensure the team's continued competition.
