Barcelona Considers Alternatives to Marcus Rashford
Tuesday 10-03-2026
Despite being occupied with the current elections, the club continues planning for the next season with a focus on strengthening the attacking line. A top priority is signing a central striker in case Robert Lewandowski leaves, which is a possibility, but no final decision has been made yet, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca'.

As for the left wing, Barca's primary option is to activate the purchase clause for Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. The club has previously agreed with the English team on the player's price of 30 million euros and has also agreed on the player's salary. What remains is the club's final decision according to the elected president. If Laporta wins, the deal is likely to be closed, with sporting director Deco monitoring the player's performance, which has declined in recent weeks.

If the Rashford deal falters, Barcelona's management is considering other alternatives, most notably the player Abde Ezzalzouli, as the club still retains 20% of the current player's rights at Real Betis, making him an economical and attractive option compared to the Rashford deal.

Barca is also following the player Jan Vergely, who is delivering an impressive performance in his first season with Mallorca. The club retains 50% of his rights after his transfer last summer for 3.5 million euros, making him a suitable option if it becomes necessary to save on Rashford's deal.

Rashford remains the most prominent option for the left wing next season, but the club maintains alternative plans through Ezzalzouli and Vergely, especially if Barcelona is forced to spend a large amount on the central striker and cannot allocate 30 million euros to purchase Rashford.
