Nayef Aguerd's Injury Disrupts Morocco's Plans Before March Friendlies
Sunday 08-03-2026
The Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd missed his team Olympique Marseille's match against Toulouse due to injury, according to French press reports.

Reports indicated that the Moroccan defender is not fully physically fit, having suffered from recurring pain in the inner thigh muscles, prompting the club's medical staff to closely monitor his condition.

The same sources also indicated that the medical team is assessing the timing of the potential surgical intervention, which might make his participation with the Moroccan national team in the near future difficult.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation recently announced the appointment of Mohamed Wahbi as the new coach of the national team, succeeding Walid Regragui.

Wahbi is expected to soon announce the Moroccan national football team's roster in preparation for two friendly matches, the first against Ecuador on March 27 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, and the second against Paraguay on March 31 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens.
