Monday 20-04-2026
The medical team of the Moroccan national team is intensifying efforts to prepare defender Nayef Aguerd to join the "Atlas Lions" in the upcoming World Cup competitions.

The Moroccan newspaper "Al-Montakhab" reported that the medical staff is working to accelerate the player's rehabilitation program in an attempt to ensure his readiness before the start of the tournament.

Aguard underwent surgery last March due to a lower abdominal injury (sports hernia), which kept him away from the field for a period.

The Moroccan defender joined Olympique Marseille during the last summer transfer window, coming from West Ham United.

This season, Akrad participated in 16 matches in the French league, during which he scored one goal. He also played 5 matches in the UEFA Champions League, in addition to one match in the French Cup.

Aguerd is considered one of the key pillars in the Moroccan national team's defense, which is preparing to participate in the World Cup in Group C, alongside the teams of Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.
