Revealing the Highest Salary List in the French League
Thursday 02-04-2026
The annual report issued by the French newspaper 'L'Équipe' today, Thursday, revealed details of the monthly wages of players in the French Ligue 1 for this season.

The data showed the continued absolute dominance of Paris Saint-Germain on the salary scale, as the capital club's players occupied the top 12 positions on the list, a clear indicator of the significant financial gap between it and the rest of the competition's clubs.

According to the report, French international Ousmane Dembélé topped the list of the highest-earning players in France, with a total monthly salary of 1.5 million euros. In second place was the team captain, Brazilian Marquinhos, earning 1.12 million euros, followed by Moroccan Achraf Hakimi and French Lucas Hernandez with 1.1 million euros each.

Warren Zaïre-Emery came fifth with a salary of 950,000 euros, surpassing Portuguese Vitinha, and newcomers João Neves and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who each earn 900,000 euros monthly.

On the level of other clubs, Olympique Marseille broke the Parisian dominance at the thirteenth position, with its player Pierre-Emile Højbjerg earning 500,000 euros monthly, making him the highest-paid player outside the 'Parc des Princes'.

The statistical distribution of the 30 highest-paid players showed 16 players from Paris Saint-Germain and 8 players from Marseille, while the remaining positions were distributed among the clubs Monaco, Rennes, Lyon, and Nice.

As for the technical leadership, Spaniard Luis Enrique continued to top the list of coaches with a salary of up to 1 million euros monthly, significantly distancing himself from his closest competitors Paulo Fonseca, coach of Olympique Lyon (350,000 euros), and Habib Beye, coach of Olympique Marseille (230,000 euros).

These figures come amid economic challenges facing French football, yet the report confirms that major clubs are still allocating substantial budgets for wage bills to maintain their competitiveness in continental forums, with anticipation for the financial oversight outcomes at the end of the current financial season.
