Esperance Coach: We Focus on the Upcoming Match Against Al-Ahly and Must Play with All Our Strength
Patrice Beaumelle, the coach of Tunisian club Espérance, spoke about the importance of the upcoming match against Al Ahly in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, noting that his team is focused on the game.
Esperance Sportive de Tunis defeated their guest, Stade Tunisien, with a score of 1-0 in the match that brought the two teams together this evening, Saturday, at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium, as part of the 23rd round of the Tunisian Premier League.
Patrice Beaumelle said in statements to Tunisian television after the match: "At halftime, we faced some minor muscle warnings for three of our players."
He added, "I never wanted to take risks, so I made quick changes that were not part of my original plan. These matches are tough because the risk of injury threatens the continuity of victories."
He continued: "We are focusing on the upcoming match against Al Ahly. Preparation is important for both the players and the fans. I hope the final word will be ours."
He continued: "We have a home game in a week, and we must play that match with all our strength, be prepared, and decisive."
He concluded: "We want to give our utmost effort in front of our fans in the first leg, so that we can then play the second leg away in the best possible way."
