Togai Suspended for a Full Year and Chawat for Three Matches

The Tunisian Football Association issued a set of disciplinary sanctions on Wednesday evening, following events during the capital derby between Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Club Africain, as part of the 29th round of the 2025-2026 football season.

These decisions came after the match ended with Club Africain's victory by one goal to nil at the Esperance stadium, a result that granted the 'Bab Jedid' team the championship title for the fourteenth time in its history.

The sanctions included suspending Esperance defender Mohamed Amine Togai for 12 months, one of the most significant decisions made by the Disciplinary Committee due to the events that accompanied the confrontation.

The association also decided to penalize Club Africain striker Firas Chawat with a three-match suspension for actions related to the same match.

These sanctions are part of the disciplinary measures taken by the competent authorities after reviewing various reports related to the capital derby, which witnessed tense atmospheres both inside and outside the stadium, and concluded with Club Africain's league title after a strong competition that extended until the final rounds of the season.
