Guardiola: I Feel Great Disappointment, We Must Continue in the Title Race
Thursday 05-03-2026
Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, expressed his sadness after his team drew 2-2 against Nottingham Forest in the 29th round of the English Premier League, affirming that the competition for the title is not yet decided.

Manchester City's winning streak in the competition came to a halt following this draw, widening the gap between them and Arsenal to seven points in the standings.

Guardiola said, "I am disappointed with the result. We gave our best as usual, we didn't concede many goals, and we had chances, especially at the end of the match, as well as during the game, but we have to keep going."

He continued: "Overall, the performance was good. There are many positives, and of course, we have areas that can be improved in some aspects, but in general, the performance was very good."

Regarding his players' demands for a penalty kick after the goalkeeper's challenge on Erling Haaland, the Spanish coach said, "No comment."

He added: "I always believe that we must perform much better to avoid relying on referees' decisions. If we have to depend on them after what happened this season, it's impossible. It is our responsibility to improve, and no more words."

Regarding the competition with Arsenal for the league title, Guardiola added: "There are still many matches left, so we have to keep going."

He was asked about the opportunity that arose at the end of the match after Savinho's attempt, and whether he thought it would find the net. He replied, "Yes, of course, it's obvious, isn't it? He wants to score, Rodri wants to score, and Haaland as well."
