Luay Salah: This is Our Goal from the Mosul Match and We Will Strive to Win

The technical staff of Al-Zawraa Club held its press conference regarding the confrontation with the Mosul team, as part of the twentieth round of the Iraqi Stars League. The head coach, Luay Salah, and team player, Murad Mohammed, talked about the readiness of the Al-Nawras for this anticipated match, in light of the circumstances the team is going through during the current phase.

Al-Zawraa is preparing to play the match on its home ground and among its fans, aiming to return to the path of victories and correct the course after a series of unsatisfactory results. The team seeks for tomorrow's confrontation to be a real turning point in its journey this season.

Salah said: “We will rely on the players’ abilities and experience during this phase, especially since time is tight and requires intensive work. There is not much room for experiments; instead, we need quick results to restore the team’s confidence.”

He added: “Every coach has his own philosophy, and we strive to implement what suits Al-Zawraa’s identity and current circumstances, taking into account the psychological and technical aspects the players are going through.”

He pointed out: “There is a genuine desire among everyone to present a different image, and we seek for tomorrow’s match to be a positive start that returns the team to the right path.”

He confirmed: “My arrival at this time is to serve Al-Zawraa, and I will do everything I can, along with the assistant technical staff, to correct the course and return the team to the place it deserves.”

He emphasized: “We will work on freeing the players from pressure and granting them confidence and solutions on the field, because the team has good elements capable of delivering the best when provided with the right environment.”

Salah concluded his remarks: “Al-Zawraa fans accept nothing but victory in every match, and we feel the magnitude of the expectations. We have enough motivation and optimism to change the reality of the team and please our supporters.”

For his part, team player Murad Mohammed confirmed that the players bear full responsibility for what is happening, pointing to the necessity of solidarity during the upcoming phase.

Murad said: “As players, we bear full responsibility and will work to help the coaching staff implement their ideas on the field in the best possible way because success is a shared responsibility.”

He added: “All upcoming matches carry great importance. The current phase is one where no point can be compensated, and every confrontation is considered a final for us.”

He explained: “In the coming period, we will work on showcasing our true capabilities and presenting a level that befits the name and history of Al-Zawraa.”
