Manchester United coach Michael Carrick appeared in a press conference after the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 28th round of the English Premier League, in the match held at Old Trafford.

The coach said, "I am very pleased with the victory and the way we handled the slow start. All credit to Crystal Palace, as they began the match with strength and enthusiasm. We showed belief and character, and finished the first half well. Overcoming an early goal deficit was a new challenge for us. Sometimes you have to do that, you have to be perfect."

Regarding Bruno Fernandes taking the penalty: "He takes responsibility, Dean Henderson has saved many penalties, so it was a good duel. Fernandes always steps up, and he wouldn't do otherwise. His sending off and the penalty were very important."

Regarding starting Benjamin Sesko: "It wasn't a gamble. It wasn't a difficult decision. Benjamin is in good form and has had a significant impact in recent weeks. He's learning what it's like to play here, and scoring the winning goal today is fantastic. We're here to help, and I'm sure that will continue. He's ready to do whatever is required of him."

Regarding securing third place: "It doesn't mean much at the moment. It's a good achievement, and we aim to keep progressing. We made up for the early goal and succeeded in responding."

He concluded regarding the departure of Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire: "They were not in good condition, and we hope they improve soon."
