Fernandez: This Feeling is Great, and There are Still Many Matches
Sunday 01-03-2026
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandez appeared in press statements after the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 28th round of the Premier League, in the match held at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils captain said: 'Coming back in the score? It's a great feeling, we were trailing and had to show some fighting spirit. We were a bit slow in handling the ball, but it's three valuable points, and that's the goal.'

Regarding the VAR decision that led to Maxence Lacroix's red card: 'The referee told me directly it was a penalty, but he was trying to determine if it deserved a red card. We all know that when there is a push or pull without a deliberate intention to reach the ball, it deserves a red card.'

On taking the penalty against his former teammate Dean Henderson: 'I worked with him, and I was with him during his time at Nottingham Forest. He even told me at the end that he wanted to dive to the same side he did last week and save the ball. Luckily, I shot it to the other side.'

On his assist to Benjamin Sesko: 'He's an excellent player, we just wanted to boost his confidence. He's an ambitious young man who always seeks to improve. He is never satisfied with scoring just one goal. He fully understands that he needs to score week after week with this club. We hope he scores more goals until the end of the season.'

He concluded about being in the top four: 'There are still many matches left, and it's important not to feel like we are in the position we aspire to. We have to collect as many points as possible.'
