Marmardashvili Considers Leaving Liverpool
Saturday 28-02-2026
The Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, the second-choice keeper for Liverpool, is seriously considering requesting a loan move during the upcoming summer transfer window at the end of the current season.

This decision reflects the player's growing frustration with his role as a substitute for the main goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, which has limited his opportunities to participate in matches, despite Mamardashvili's reputation as one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe.

Reports indicate that the goalkeeper is seeking more playing time to improve his performance and regain his position as a starting goalkeeper, while Liverpool is considering its loan options to ensure the preservation of his value and athletic future.

Liverpool signed the Georgian goalkeeper in the summer of 2024 for 30 million euros, but he remained at Valencia until the end of the last season. He then joined Liverpool in the summer of 2025, where he played only 11 matches in all competitions for the Reds.
