AC Milan announced that their English midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, will undergo surgery after suffering fractures in his upper teeth and jawbone following a severe injury during his team's match against Parma in the Italian league.

The 30-year-old player left the field on a stretcher with his head immobilized after a violent collision during the match.

The club clarified in an official statement that medical examinations confirmed the player suffered fractures in the teeth and the alveolar bone of the upper jaw, but he did not suffer a concussion nor did he lose consciousness, which was considered reassuring news for the technical and medical staff.

The injury occurred following an aerial collision with Parma's goalkeeper, Eduardo Corvi, prompting players from both teams to immediately call for the game to be stopped to provide medical assistance.

Loftus-Cheek was seen with his face smeared with blood as he exited in the 11th minute of the match, to be replaced by his teammate Ardon Jashari.

The player participated in 27 matches with Milan this season across various competitions, during which he scored three goals and provided one assist.
