Financial Dispute Delays Renewal of Hussein El Shahat's Contract with Al Ahly
Friday 13-02-2026
Al-Ahly officials failed to reach an agreement with the team's winger, Hussein El Shahat, regarding the extension of his contract, which expires at the end of the current season, due to differing views on the financial compensation and terms of the new contract.

According to Yalla Kora, El Shahat rejected the latest offer from Al Ahly's management, which included receiving 20 million Egyptian pounds annually for two seasons, in addition to a variable-value advertising contract.

The report indicated that the player requested more than 30 million pounds annually, in addition to a fixed-value advertising contract, with an exemption from the participation percentage clause, as a basic condition for agreeing to extend his contract with the Red Castle.

The site confirmed that Al-Ahly's management is adhering to its financial policy and refuses to meet all of the player's demands, except for the possibility of discussing the participation percentage clause. Meanwhile, El Shahat expressed his dissatisfaction with the statements made by Walid Salah El-Din, the club's football director, who asserted that those wishing to continue would receive a suitable offer, while those who do not wish to stay have the freedom to decide.
