Laporta: Nothing is Innocent in Refereeing, and We Must Fight Against Everything
Friday 13-02-2026
Joan Laporta expressed his anger following the refereeing performance in the match between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey, affirming his full support for the team and urging the fans to stand behind the players before the return leg.

Laporta said, "All my support to Hans Flick, the players, Deco and his team. With the strength of all Barcelona fans, I am convinced that we have a historic opportunity to make a great comeback at Spotify Camp Nou on March 3rd."

He added: "Unfortunately, we suffered from a series of adverse conditions, starting with a poorly maintained pitch to a wrongly disallowed goal, which deprived us of initiating a possible comeback. A comeback is possible in the return leg if we support the team as we did during the epic nights we experienced on the field."

He continued: "The disallowed goal for Pau Cubarsi reminds us of the goal that was also incorrectly disallowed for Lamine Yamal at Anoeta. Nothing is innocent, so we must fight against everything and everyone."

He continued: "Now more than ever, it is essential to stand by our players. I ask the members and fans to make the players feel the love we have for them and the pride they make us feel as they defend our colors."

Laporta concluded his remarks by saying, "Long live Barcelona and long live Catalonia."
