Al-Wensh: Our Goal is to Win Tomorrow's Match to Maintain the Lead and Secure Qualification
Mahmoud Hamdy El-Wensh, a player for Zamalek, confirmed that his team is striving to win tomorrow's match against Zambia's ZESCO in the African Confederation Cup to secure qualification for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Zamalek will face ZESCO tomorrow, Sunday, in the fifth round of the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In the pre-match press conference, El-Wensh added: "We know that ZESCO has strengths, and we must respect the opponent, especially since they have high-level players, but they have been unfortunate in some matches."
He continued: "Zamalek aims to win all its matches, whether at home or away. Our goal is to win tomorrow's match to maintain the top position in the group and secure qualification to the quarter-finals from Zambia."
He continued: "We have closely followed the ZESCO team, especially since some of their players have moved to the Egyptian league. The opponent includes a distinguished group of players. Captain Moatamed Gamal held sessions with us to explain their strengths. We respect the opposing team and look forward to achieving victory and securing the three points. I hope we will be successful."
He concluded: "Zamalek being at the top of the group currently does not mean the competition is decided, given the rivalry with Al-Masry and Kaizer Chiefs. There are still 6 points remaining, and the group's standings could change. Therefore, we must win the next two matches to ensure qualification and lead the group."
