The Lebanese Football Association officially announced the appointment of the Algerian coach Majid Bougherra as the head coach of the national team, in a move aimed at giving a new boost to the path of Lebanese football at the national team level.

This decision comes as part of the federation's efforts to rebuild the team in the upcoming phase, relying on Bougherra's coaching experience and leadership qualities, especially after his previous experiences at the national teams and continental competitions level.

The Lebanese sports community is counting on Bougherra's ability to establish a clear technical identity and improve results, with a focus on developing team performance and making the most of the available talents.

Bougherra has had a distinguished career as both a player and a coach; he shone during his football career as a defender with several European and Gulf clubs, most notably Glasgow Rangers in Scotland, and was one of the pillars of the Algerian national team. After retiring, he turned to coaching and succeeded in drawing attention by leading the Algerian local team to win the Arab Cup 2021, and he left after the last Arab Cup.
