Real Madrid forward Franco Mastantuono appeared in a press statement after the 6-1 victory over Monaco in the seventh round of the Champions League group stage, held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
The Argentine star said in his statement: "The team's character is what decided the course of the match today. We thought as a team about changing this situation. We saw a good version of ourselves, one that can always be improved, but it will lead us to great achievements."
He added: "What do you think of the offensive team's performance? When we play well and unite, and the team has that energy, each player stands out individually. We all play for each other, and that was evident today. We have two attackers capable of changing the course of the match, and they are among the best in the world. On an individual level, we have some of the best players in the world. If we all come together and stay united, we will achieve great accomplishments."
He continued, "I have been training hard to be ready for this match. Real Madrid is a very tough club, where you always have to give your best. There is also a lot of criticism. Today, we can be more open and show our best, and I believe I can help the team in this way."
About changing his hair color: "I used to be slower and heavier, and now I'm a little better (joking). I like changing things up; I get bored with my hair, so I try new things."
He continued: "I arrived from Argentina as a young man, and I felt completely ready to be here, but it was a whole new life for me, and that requires time to adapt. I was never in a bad place personally; I have always tried to be that cheerful person who wants to learn and grow, and who will always fight for the benefit of the team."
