Lookman: We Wanted to Win the Gold Medal.. and Egypt's Team is Good
Ademola Lookman, the star of the Nigerian national team, spoke about his country's winning of the bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties in the third-place playoff match at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Lookman said in a television statement after the match: "It is clear that we were disappointed after losing to Morocco, but we managed to overcome it and adjusted our playing style."
He added: "Egypt's team is good and it is not easy to outperform them, but the way we took the penalty kicks was good, and that's how penalties are."
He continued: "Everyone wanted to win the gold medal, but the bronze is somewhat sufficient for now."
