Former Barcelona player Samuel Umtiti made striking remarks about the sudden dismissal of coach Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid following the team's 3-2 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Umtiti explained in his statements: "The coach must always be the one making the decisions. When he arrives at a club, he is the one who decides, and the players must execute."

He added, "But currently, in some teams, things don't work that way, and some players end up having more influence than the coach."

Xabi Alonso took over as Real Madrid's coach last summer, replacing Carlo Ancelotti, but the management led by Florentino Pérez ended his tenure after just half a season and appointed Álvaro Arbeloa in his place, following a series of disputes with some players and a loss in the Super Cup final.
