Conceição Criticizes Al-Ittihad's Performance Against Damac and Closes Transfer File
Wednesday 14-01-2026
Portuguese coach Sérgio Conceição, head of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, expressed his dissatisfaction with his players' performance in the first half of the match against Damac, emphasizing the lack of aggression and required spirit. However, the performance noticeably improved in the second half of the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, during the 15th round of the Saudi Pro League (Roshn Saudi League).

In the press conference after the match, Conceição said: "What concerns the players is another matter, and I do not want to comment on it now. We are working solely within the framework of the match. Clear mistakes occurred, and we will try to address and correct them in the coming period."

The Portuguese coach added: "I have coached in many places and have never seen such time-wasting performance. If I had been the referee of the match, I would have been able to control its course. Even the opposing team's coach admitted that they relied on this strategy."

Conceição refused to discuss the transfer market or the possibility of some players leaving, saying: "I don't want to talk about transfers. The player who stays must have the spirit and fight for the Al-Ittihad badge. We work daily to make up for lost points and continue to excel with seriousness and determination."
