Real Madrid's head coach, Xabi Alonso, appeared at a press conference to discuss tomorrow's match against Atlético Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, to be held at the Al Inma Stadium in Jeddah.

The coach said: "This is a semifinal match, and we must be fully prepared mentally, compete strongly, and pay great attention to the details. They are a strong opponent, but we have many reasons to play with enthusiasm and determination. This is the first title contested this season, so it is the most important."

He added: "We want to play a different match from the league game we lost, but we cannot forget what we lacked that day—things we are fully aware of. We don’t want to repeat the same mistakes, and we want to play at a higher level. I am convinced that we will deliver something different, but we cannot overlook the things that didn’t go well. We learn from every defeat, and there are things from that match we don’t want to repeat, so we will keep them to ourselves."

Regarding Kylian Mbappé's exclusion due to injury: "Decisions have been made, and we hope for his return as soon as possible. Our focus now is on tomorrow's semifinal match and winning it so that we can play in the final on Sunday."

Regarding the Spanish Super Cup: "Two things are absolutely clear: it is the most important tournament because it is the next one, but it ranks fourth in terms of what's at stake during the season. It is the top priority; we have to deliver a good match, and we are preparing for it with great enthusiasm."

He continued: "All players must apply pressure, including Vinicius, in every training session and every match. I demand complete commitment from everyone when we don't have the ball. I ask them to be active and to keep the lines close together. This desire to play in those moments, and even to enjoy them, will make us more competitive."

Regarding the condition of Vinícius Júnior: "The season is still long, and Vinícius will be an important player. We need him at his best, enjoying playing on the field. When he is like that, he gives us an advantage. We have to look for him. He is a key player for us."

He explained: "Dani Carvajal is in good condition and can get a few minutes, but we have to consider his recovery. There are still many matches left, and we don't want to rush anything, but he is ready. We work every day to help every player going through difficult circumstances. We understand how proud we are to defend this badge, and the players understand that as well."

He concluded: "A lot happens during the season. In November and December, we suffered many injuries and had to make some changes, but now we are in a position to compete for everything. We have a title ahead of us now; if we win against Atlético Madrid, we will qualify for the final."
