Hossam Ghaly Comments on Salah's Statements After the Benin Match
Former Al Ahly star Hossam Ghaly commented on Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian national team star's statements after the match against Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Egyptian national team won against Benin with a score of 3-1 in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.
After the match, Mohamed Salah said in statements on "beIN Sports" channel that the team is mainly composed of local players, and this is what can be said.
Hossam Ghaly said on "On Sport" channel: "I don't think Salah's statement was meant to lull the opponent because any competitor knows the stature of Egypt since we are the team with the most Africa titles."
He continued: "Everyone takes Egypt seriously whether it's the national team with local players or professionals."
He added: "Maybe Salah is trying to relieve the pressure from the players, as there was pressure from the coaching staff on the players, and there were big criticisms before the tournament regarding the team and its technical staff."
He emphasized: "Certainly, this is not the tone of the conversation in closed rooms; definitely, the talk is about coming to take the cup from Morocco and bring it back to Egypt."
