Frederick Massara, the sporting director of Italian club Roma, clarified the actual situation regarding the future of left-back Saud Abdulhamid amid the ongoing speculation about his possible return to the Saudi league.

Massara denied, in statements to Al-Riyadiyah newspaper, the existence of any official offers from Saudi Roshn League clubs to sign Saud Abdulhamid during the current winter transfer window.

The Roma director emphasized that the rumors about Saudi clubs' interest in the player are baseless, confirming that the club has not received any communication on this matter.

Massara confirmed that Roma's management will not decide Saud Abdulhamid's fate in the current January, explaining that the final decision will be made after the end of his loan period.

This clarification comes amid reports linking Saud Abdulhamid's name to a return to Al Hilal, to compensate for the possible departure of the Portuguese João Cancelo during the winter transfer window.

Speculation about the player's future has increased due to his limited participation in his European experience, which has sparked discussions about his potential return to the Saudi league.

Saud Abdulhamid moved to French club Lens at the beginning of the current season on loan from Roma until the summer of 2026. He has participated in 12 matches, playing a total of 387 minutes, during which he scored one goal and provided two assists.
